I love my new school backpack!
Have you feel this surge of pride every time you go to school because your school bag seems to be the coolest in school? The excitement you feel when you see the envy on the eyes of your classmates and secretly wish that they were on your shoes at that very moment. Well, you bet I’ve experience that euphoria of being the coolest and hippest dude in school. lol!
Early last year, my mom brought this mini Batman school backpack for my little brother. This bag, however, did not skip my curious thought if kids backpack could stir the boring high school I am in where conventionality is all over the place and possessed in each person you meet in the corridor.
I certainly do asked my mom to buy me a Spider-Man mini backpack like the batman school backpack of my younger brother. Just imagine how mom reacts when I told to her that I want a “spidey backpack”. But she doesn’t utter a word, thanks to all the saints I was save from the long conversation. Maybe, the price of this small backpack convince her that it’s alright to buy me one, certainly $7 doesn’t hurt her budget.
When I went to school the next day, and I wear this “new backpack” I feel like I am on the mercy of this judgmental society (HAHAHA). There were few raised their eyebrow especially the “Einstein soon to be students” as if asking implicitly on the normality of my thinking. Those the “not so Einstein dude”, however, think that I am cool and saluted me to have the guts to wear my little backpack (though I already keep the necessary textbooks in the locker to save myself from the teacher’s claws).
I paraded my “spidey backpack” all over the campus the whole day earning skeptical looks from my school classmates but I know I am practicing the fundamental right of every American people (Freedom of Expression!).
The next day, I am back with the old days where I am eating my nails just to ease the boredom of staying and learning the conventional knowledge. (LAUGH!) That was the first time I go beyond the norms and SURPRISINGLY I found it very fulfilling.
